Paul’s Cancer Support Centre – COVID-19 risk assessment for Phase 1
On 16th March 2020 all activities in the Centre and in clients’ homes were suspended, in line with government guidance. Since that date, all members of staff (and volunteers, where their role allows) have been working from home and all support provided to clients has been remote (via telephone and video conferencing facilities such as zoom). This has included support calls, 1:1 counselling and hypnotherapy and a range of wellbeing activities.
We have adopted a phased approach to re-opening our Centre in Battersea to ensure risks are managed appropriately. The first phase is re-opening the Centre for initial appointments and one-to-one psychological support from 1st September 2020.
We have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment for the first phase. We have developed this with input from staff, Trustees and volunteers and reviewed relevant government guidance on working safely.
This risk assessment will be updated (and we will consider if additional controls need to be introduced) as we restart other services including touch therapies, group wellbeing activities and home visiting services.
