Healthy Eating Programme

Meredy Birdi, The Cancer Dietitian, will be returning to Paul’s in October, to deliver a series of six workshops for people wanting to improve their diet and health after cancer treatments. Meredy will be joined by Marcelle Dubruel, a health coach who will be encouraging you to set and achieve your healthy eating goals in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. There are just 20 places, so register your interest early if you would like a place.

The current course has been put on hold due to the coronavirus crisis. We will be looking to provide useful links to online classes or even hold an online workshop. Please keep an eye on the website for updates.

Macmillan HOPE course

H.O.P.E stands for Help Overcoming Problems Effectively.  It is a programme developed by Macmillan that helps people who have had cancer to get on with their lives.  The course is free to attend and runs for 6 weeks for 3 hours each session at our Centre in Battersea. The course concentrates on focusing and rediscovering your inner strengths and resilience to help you cope emotionally, psychologically and practically.  There are between 6 to 10 people on each course and time is spent in facilitated discussions, group activities, information sharing and ideas for you to try between each session.

It aims to help you to achieve some of the following positive outcomes:

  • Feel more confident in dealing with emotional issues such as anxiety, anger, depression and uncertainty
  • Increase your ability to handle stressful situations
  • Discover how to use relaxation techniques to refresh your mind and body
  • Use the skills from the course to improve and self-manage your life after cancer treatment

The HOPE courses run twice a year. We also run a shorter course for family members and carers of those affected by cancer.


Mindfulness course (8 weeks)

Gary Born has kindly offered to run another Mindfulness workshop on Zoom in August 2020 (date to be confirmed).

Move, Dance, Feel

The Move Dance Feel workshop is run by Emily Jenkins. Due to the coronavirus situation, these sessions are being held on Zoom.

We are offering another 10-week dance programme online on Zoom starting on Friday, 5 June 2020 until 7 August 2020.

Each session consists of two parts:
9:30am – Morning Moves (45 minutes).
10:30 am – Move Dance Feel Dance Discussion (45 minutes).

Yoga for Men

This class will be a small group for up to 3 men at a time. Sarah Buckland is a yoga therapist and she will be facilitating the sessions as a therapy class, introducing men who have no previous experience of yoga to the practice, and providing more individual attention and adaptations.




We run several workshops throughout the year on topics such as;

  • better sleep
  • laughter yoga and,
  • healthy eating
