Healthy Eating Programme
Meredy Birdi, The Cancer Dietitian, will be returning to Paul’s in October, to deliver a series of six workshops for people wanting to improve their diet and health after cancer treatments. Meredy will be joined by Marcelle Dubruel, a health coach who will be encouraging you to set and achieve your healthy eating goals in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. There are just 20 places, so register your interest early if you would like a place.
The course will start at 10.30am and finish at 12.30pm. Dates are as follows:

- 7th Feb
A £30 refundable deposit is required on booking. Refunds will be made on completion of the course in February 2020

Macmillan HOPE course
H.O.P.E stands for Help Overcoming Problems Effectively. It is a programme developed by Macmillan that helps people who have had cancer to get on with their lives. The course is free to attend and runs for 6 weeks for 3 hours each session at our Centre in Battersea. The course concentrates on focusing and rediscovering your inner strengths and resilience to help you cope emotionally, psychologically and practically. There are between 6 to 10 people on each course and time is spent in facilitated discussions, group activities, information sharing and ideas for you to try between each session.
It aims to help you to achieve some of the following positive outcomes:
- Feel more confident in dealing with emotional issues such as anxiety, anger, depression and uncertainty
- Increase your ability to handle stressful situations
- Discover how to use relaxation techniques to refresh your mind and body
- Use the skills from the course to improve and self-manage your life after cancer treatment
The HOPE courses run twice a year. We also run a shorter course for family members and carers of those affected by cancer.
Mindfulness course (8 weeks)
Our 8-week Mindfulness course runs every year and the dates for 2020 are:
Every Tuesday starting 11 February 2020 until 31 March 2020, 11am – 1pm.
Plus, an additional session on Saturday, 21 March 2020, 10am – 4pm.
Places are limited, so please ensure you book by Thursday, 23 January 2020.
Move, Dance, Feel
During 2020, we will be offering three 10-week dance programmes for women affected by cancer here at Paul’s Cancer Support Centre. The sessions will take place on Thursday mornings from 10.30am – 12.30pm followed by tea and social time.

Workshop On Sleep
Having difficulty sleeping?
Why not come along to our sleep workshop to learn hypnotic techniques to help improve your sleep.
The workshop takes place on Thursday, 26 March 2020 from 2pm – 4pm.

Yoga for Men
This class will be a small group for up to 3 men at a time. Sarah Buckland is a yoga therapist and she will be facilitating the sessions as a therapy class, introducing men who have no previous experience of yoga to the practice, and providing more individual attention and adaptations.
